👋 Hi, my name is Reccia Jobe, and for almost 20 years I’ve been helping people create the kind of relationships they dream of having with their horses.
But before all that, I was just like many of you—trying to figure out why things weren’t clicking with certain horses, even though I was following the advice of trainers, clinics, and endless training videos.
I grew up on cattle ranches in Texas, where horses weren’t just tools, they were partners. As a kid, I often rode and evaluated new horses in a program my dad ran for at-risk youth. Even then, I could sense something powerful—horses weren’t just animals we worked with, they had the ability to change people’s lives.
That realization shaped my path. Over the past 18 years, I’ve worked as a trauma-informed equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning professional and trainer, diving deep into how human and animal nervous systems interact. Along the way, my approach to horsemanship transformed.
The "real-cowgirls-don't-cry" approach to relationships I had been taught as kid no longer worked for... well, just about any relationship in my life. And it certainly wasn't going to work well for handling and training horses that needed to be safe, attuned and connected around traumatized and vulnerable people.
I had to learn new ways that were not only supportive of the people I was working with, but gave my horses the space and freedom to build transformative healthy relationship with people, while still learning all the skills and training they needed.
And here’s the truth I discovered…
👉 It’s not about finding the perfect technique, trainer, or clinic. None of those will work if the foundation of your relationship with your horse is weak or cracked. Once you understand how to strengthen that foundation, everything else—training, riding, progress—begins to fall into place.
That’s exactly why we created this course. To give you unique, personalized insight and practices for developing a strong, connected, and fulfilling partnership with your horse—one that not only makes progress possible but also brings back the joy you imagined when you first dreamed of having a horse.
I know what it feels like to wonder if you and your horse are a good fit, or to feel stuck, frustrated, and ready to give up. But I also know what’s possible when you shift your focus from fixing problems to building relationship. And I can’t wait to help you experience that transformation with your own horse.
👋 Hi, my name is Rebecca Hubbard, and for as long as I can remember, horses have been my safe haven.
Growing up in a tumultuous childhood, horses were often my only steady friend. But life didn’t always make it easy—I spent years bouncing between homes and towns, sometimes separated from my horses, and every time it felt like a piece of me was missing. Horses were the glue that held me together. Their smell, the way they carried me through thick and thin, and the soft press of a muzzle against my neck—that felt like home.
As a little girl, I’d pack a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and set off with my horse Junebug, dreaming of reaching the mountains. We never made it all the way there before dark, but the thrill of those adventures got lodged in my soul. Later, I chased rodeo dreams across Texas, learning how to compete, control, and dominate my horses. On the ranch, I roped and worked cattle, loving the teamwork but not yet understanding the cost of a control-based mindset.
Like many of you, I’ve wrestled with the tension between the horsemanship I was taught and the relationship my heart longed for. I know what it feels like to be pulled between control and connection—because I’ve lived that battle.
And here’s the truth I discovered…
👉 Horses don’t just respond to how well you train them—they respond to how deeply you connect with them. Real partnership doesn’t come from power or control. It comes from trust, attunement, and relationship.
That realization came full circle when I found myself volunteering at a therapeutic riding center in the middle of a rainstorm. I was the only one who showed up. Standing in that barn, a horse pressed its nose into my neck, and I broke down in tears. In that moment, I remembered what horses had always meant to me—and I knew I had to change how I related to them.
That moment, along with the journey through Parelli and into Natural Lifemanship, reshaped my horsemanship. Today, I’m a Natural Lifemanship clinician, equine professional, and trainer, and my passion is helping people walk the same path I’ve been walking—one of unlearning old patterns and learning to meet your horse with compassion, curiosity, and connection.
I’m still on this journey myself, and that’s why I believe so deeply in walking it with grace—for yourself and for your horse. Because when you begin to shift your relationship from control to connection, you’ll find more than just progress with your horse—you’ll find healing, joy, and partnership.
